doc capture singer’s last days? Will Michael Jackson
doc capture singer’s last days? Will Michael Jackson Ian Halperin, who penned “Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson,” will unveil a new documentary about the King of Pop’s last days next month.
Variety reports that Halperin has produced “Gone Too Soon,” an 88-minute documentary about Jackson that cobbles together 300 hours of footage shot from within the singer’s camp. It reportedly features interviews with Jackson’s personal manager, chef, spiritual adviser, hairstylist, trainer, protective agent and attorney. None of the Jackson family members participated in the film, though Halperin claims they are aware of the film.
Shine Intl. holds global distribution rights to the doc, and will screen “Gone” as part of the Mip TV confab in Cannes. There will be a theatrical run of the doc in Canada and France, via Transit Medias, on June 25 — the first anniversary of Jackson’s death.
“This is the film Michael and his fans deserve,” Halperin said.
