A DVD smash “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon,”

A DVD smash “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon,” Full disclosure: The appeal of the “Twilight” saga escapes me. But that doesn’t mean “Twilight” doesn’t have an audience. Quite the contrary. And that rabid fan base should turn out in droves to pick up copies of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” now that it’s available on home video.

The second film adaptation in the planned five-part, vampire-and-werewolf series finds Bella (Kristen Stewart) flip-flopping between her true love, Edward (Robert Pattinson), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner), whose primary drawback seems to be that he’s a flesh-devouring werewolf. The action mopes around the Pacific Northwest until Bella jetsets to Italy with a foolproof plan to rescue Edward and reunite the star crossed lovers.

A two-disc, special edition DVD of “New Moon,” released by Summit Entertainment, delivers an audio commentary track, deleted scenes (which are popping up all over the internet), a six-part documentary that takes you behind the scenes for the “Making of” the film, band rehearsal footage with Muse, as well as music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina, and Mute Math.

The third “Twilight” film, “Eclipse,” hits theaters June 30.
